Looking over the pics on the wall, the building is new and improved - nice, cozy and clean. My husband is from this way. He has been raving that this is the last OG BBQ spot in Dallas with good, down home BBQ, the way “we” like BBQ. We ordered two HUMONGOUS potato’s chop beef and link for the protein. The potatoes were so large we could’ve shared one and been filled to the brim. Portion size DOES justify the price. However, the potato was so over cooked that it could’ve been mashed/creamed potatoes. No salt/pepper on the table or in the bag - I could’ve made it work, if so. This place was nostalgic for my husband so he ordered for us. I have to have a sweet, so FIRST he brought a slice of sweet potato pie. He couldn’t get to the table before I asked him to take it back - very dry, very hard looking. I won’t post a pic out of respect. When he took the slice back to exchange, the cook made mention of not taking back food that’s been opened- which, it was not. Smokey Joes did accept the pie back, however my old man asked for a peach cobbler - he received a banana pudding instead. We didn’t make a fuss, I think there was a language barrier issue. The banana pudding looked like what I would expect from Prosper where we live… not in the Cliff. Even still, I wanted to give “us” another chance, paid for a serving of peach cobbler….. 😞 tasted just like the pics look, cold and sour. Smokey Joes, please reply with the best day to comeback, so, I can buy everything again and replace this review with the superiority in context we were expecting in taste.

Not pleased at all. The brisket was very dry. The bark looked like it would have flavor but it didn't. The chicken baked potato was also dry and and not flavored throughout. The rib plate got my son quite sick. On top of that, such small portions for the price. We won't be returning.

2 ribs, 2 slices of brisket, and 6 east texas links cost $50. The meat tasted like it was boiled and barely had any bbq or smokey flavor. I was so disappointed in the portion sizes and taste. I'll never return.
